Abstract

This article offers a comprehensive overview of the Festivity of San Cecilio, patron saint of Granada, from a historical-artistic, identity-based, and educational perspective. It analyzes how this deeply rooted celebration in Granada’s culture represents a valuable example of intangible heritage. Through a didactic itinerary, activities are proposed to help primary school students learn about the history, artistic elements, and cultural values associated with this festivity. Furthermore, the article contextualizes the importance of including local traditions and festivals within the Andalusian school curriculum, aiming to strengthen identity and promote meaningful learning.

Antonio Rafael Fernández Paradas, Universidad de Granada (España)

Antequerano at heart and born in Málaga, he had a clear calling from a very young age. So much so that at just 21 years old, he achieved his dream of becoming an appraiser of antiques and works of art. Today, as a university professor, and a lover of the sea and horseback riding, he never misses an opportunity to continue expanding his knowledge and enjoying what he loves most: art and culture.
