The trust is a key element in organizational success (Vargas & Toro, 2023). The variety of studies on organizational trust reveals—in addition to its importance—the need for an academic effort to systematize, integrate, and compile findings on organizational trust and its measurement instruments. This paper aims to analyze relevant studies on organizational trust as a strategic element in positive leadership management within literature published in English and Spanish between 2000 and 2024. This research was based on the methodology of systematic literature reviews (Moher et al., 2015) and the analytical tools proposed by Hart (2018). In total, descriptive and conceptual data were extracted from 45 studies published between 2000 and 2024, following the PRISMA-P guidelines. The study highlights the scope of the concept of trust in the work environment and its implications for positive leadership, identifying notions, characteristics, attributes, and effects. Regarding descriptive categories, this study revealed a literature trend toward quantitative research in recent years. Concerning conceptual categories, this study was based on the dimensions of organizational trust proposed by the HERO model (Olvera et al., 2017)—vertical trust and horizontal trust—which served to classify the articles and extract fragments for the construction of the narrative evidence. The study will contribute to strengthening knowledge about organizational trust and its relationship with positive leadership, with implications for workplace well-being and organizational health.
