Abstract

This article analyzes the implications of deep forces, direct and indirect windows, within the framework of the signing of the Geneva Agreement of February 1966, as a mechanism to solve in a practical and satisfactory way the surroundings of the Essequibo territory, this article is based on official sources (debate journal of the Congress of Venezuela and Yellow Books) and Venezuelan press between January and February 1966. Deep forces, a category analyzed by Duroselle and Renouvin, aim to analyze the interrelation between the Statesman and society, where it is influenced by psychological and sociological factors that determine not only his identity, but his historical consciousness. The article aims to analyze the legal, political and historical elements in which the various sectors of Venezuelan society considered the possible solutions to the controversy with Great Britain, which can offer important inputs for the historical and legal understanding of the actions carried out by Venezuela, as well as those objective and subjective elements that affect the Venezuelan understanding with respect to the Essequibo Guayana, factors that are necessary to analyze, considering other border disputes between Venezuela and its neighbors.
