Archiving Policy – Cuadernos Unimetanos
Cuadernos Unimetanos employs various procedures to ensure the permanent accessibility of digital objects stored on its servers, guaranteeing long-term preservation. These procedures include:
a) Internal Preservation Measures:
- Regular backup copies.
- Continuous monitoring of the technological environment to anticipate migrations due to obsolescence of formats or software.
- Integration of metadata designed for digital preservation.
- Assignment of persistent identifiers using the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) system.
b) External Preservation Measures:
Cuadernos Unimetanos deposits its metadata in national and international repositories, such as Dialnet, to ensure digital preservation and long-term accessibility.
c) Interoperability Protocol:
The use of Open Journal Systems (OJS) as its editorial management software ensures compatibility with the OAI-PMH (Open Archive Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interoperability protocol, facilitating metadata harvesting by other platforms and systems.
