Anti-plagiarism policy
Anti-Plagiarism Policy – Cuadernos Unimetanos
Plagiarism in any form, self-plagiarism, redundant or duplicate publication, as well as the fabrication or manipulation of data, are severe breaches of academic ethics and are considered scientific fraud. Authors commit not to submit manuscripts to the journal that are simultaneously under consideration by another editor, nor to submit the same manuscript to another process while awaiting notification of rejection or withdrawing it voluntarily.
However, it is acceptable to publish a work that extends upon one already published as a brief note, communication, or abstract in conference proceedings, provided that the original text is properly cited and the modifications constitute a substantial contribution. These circumstances must be clearly stated, and the original publication must be appropriately referenced.
The editorial team at Cuadernos Unimetanos uses the anti-plagiarism software Similarity Check, powered by iThenticate, to identify overlaps and similarities between submitted texts and previously published works. If similarities exceeding 20% are detected, a report will be sent to the author offering the opportunity to revise and rewrite the manuscript before a final rejection is issued.
